Quote The Rookie: Feds, the only ABC singular-lead hourlong broadcast series headlined by a Black actor, was not the breakout hit the original Rookie was but delivered respectable ratings that could’ve been enough to secure a second season had it not been for the dual strikes. Just like almost all first seasons are. The 2nd and beyond is always good. The show wasn't even given a fair chance to thrive before SAGAFTRA caused it to be cancelled.
