Pluto is a planet! What do you not get?

On August 24, 2006, Pluto was downgraded from being a planet to "dwarf planet" by the IAU. The reason Pluto is now a "dwarf planet" is because it has not cleared the neighborhood around its orbit. Personally I think that isn't a good enough reason to take away Pluto's planetary status.

I think that in the case of Pluto, an exception should be made. Also for other planets like it too. Especially if they have moons.

What many do not know is that is the day Pluto lost its planetary status, less than 5% of the world's astronomers were able to vote.

I think that what the IAU needs to do is to come together to redefine what it means for a planet to be a planet.

I remember reading in an article about how hardly any of the astronomers of the world were there and allowed to vote. That needs to be rectified. At some point or another, all planets have some kind of debris in their path, but does that mean they should be excluded as planets? Nope.

I swear. Sometimes the IAU can be idiots! Instead of taking away the planet status of Pluto, why not just classify it as a certain kind of planet.

I've always believed Pluto to be a planet. For me, it is a planet. Anyone who says otherwise clearly doesn't know what they're talking about.

Now I would love to see @Angie blog about Charon and Pluto and how they use to be dubbed a double planet system.

That's what I think. To me, Pluto is a particular breed of planet.
