CEDAvsFan Posted October 23 Posted October 23 https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/23/sport/mlb-los-angeles-dodgers-fernando-valenzuela-death-spt-intl/index.html This really hurts. I didn't really get to watch Fernando Valenzuela pitch, but living out here in SoCal, that name was all I heard for years. He pitched for 17 seasons, but 11 of them were with the Dodgers, and most of that was before I was born. I've seen the footage, I've heard the stories. Fernandomania. That was the big thing once he came from Mexico and joined the Dodgers, and absolutely showed out. One of the great lefty pitchers of all time, a pillar to Los Angeles. Spent his last 21 years as the color analyst for the Dodgers' Spanish radio broadcasts. The man was a legend for sure. We will see a tribute to Fernando Valenzuela on Friday for sure--Game 1 of the World Series in Dodger Stadium. A legend who will be missed immensely--he already is missed immensely. 1 Quote
Philip Gipson Posted October 23 Posted October 23 This year has most definitely been tough. May Fernando Valenzuela rest in peace. Quote
